For decades, a small percentage of residents in Taos, New Mexico, have reported hearing a persistent, low-frequency hum that no scientific instrument has ever definitively located or identified, leaving its source a persistent mystery. The Taos Hum, first widely reported in the early 1990s, is a phenomenon where only about 2% of the local population can perceive a continuous, low-pitched sound.
